Back To School
This post is a little bit tardy! (See what I did there?!) I know school started almost a month ago for most people, but better late than never, right? Unfortunately, that excuse will most likely not work with most of your teachers, trust me.

Insta-Outfit // Hello Fall
Happy Fall! I'm so excited that it's finally time for boots, oversize sweaters, and lots of layers. Today is a short post because I'm still catching up on things from my trip to Chicago, AND I'm in the process of moving my sister into my apartment. Yes, my lovely little sister is going to be living with me for a few months, and I couldn't be more excited! Can't wait to share our fall adventures with all of you!!

She Sells Seashells
My mom is pretty darn cool. Yup, I said it! She likes to say she's not fashionable, but even though she doesn't buy new clothes all the time or wear the latest trend, she still has a keen eye for awesome clothes. Case in point, this dress.

Insta-Outfit // Gloomy Days
It’s so hard to keep up with the weather these days! One day
it's sunny and breezy, and the next it’s cloudy and pouring. It’s almost like
Summer and Fall are constantly playing tug of war. Although it’s sad to see summer come to an end,
I’m more than ready for sweater and boots weather. Bring on the crisp mornings,
changing leaves, and comfy sweaters!

Boston --> Chicago
As we all know (or at least many of us know), September is chock-full of fashion weeks throughout the US and Europe. Last week it was New York, and this week it's London. But what most people don't know is that this week is also Chicago Patio Week!
Weekend Wear // Mellow Yellow
Happy Monday!! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. The weather in Boston has been extremely unpredictable lately, but this weekend was absolutely beautiful. I will admit that I didn't get to spend much time outside this weekend because I was working for most of it, but the customers that came into the store said it was quite lovely!

Coffee Break // Let's Be Honest
Lately on the bus rides to and from work, I've found myself carefully (more like frantically) sifting through the thoughts in my head; trying desperately to figure out the next step in my life, and ultimately what I want to be when I grow up. I'm turning 24 this year and for the first time in a long time, I've found myself unsure of what I want to do next. And for someone who lives by plans and lists like I always have, this uncertainty truly terrifies me. When I was younger, my parents said that I would make a good lawyer, or should go into journalism because I have always been gifted with the ability to talk anyone and everyone's ear off. They were surprised when I said I wanted to go into medicine, not because they didn't think I could do it, but because they weren't sure it would be the best use of my skill set. But as good parents do, they put their misgivings aside and supported my new endeavor. I completed all of my prerequisites for medical school while sprinkling in a variety of other classes that appealed to the "Jill of all trades" in me. After college, I naturally searched for jobs that would give me the most medical experience possible. I knew I wanted to be a doctor, but I wanted to be completely sure before I dedicated a large chunk of my life to more school, grueling work hours, and little to no personal life.

Insta-Outfit // Travel Wear
Although I want to look nice when I'm traveling, my main objective is always comfort. I'm very fidgety, and I become antsy on long flights, so I know I have to wear clothes that let me easily move around. This Free People sweater is one of my absolute favorites because it is light, breathable, and a beautiful ballet pink color. I also love that it has the option to become an off the shoulder sweater! It's not only my perfect travel sweater, but also one of my go-to sweaters on gloomy days.

Day in the Gardens
When in living in Boston, do as the tourists do. I've realized that whenever I move to a new place, I'm easily sucked into my work routine, and forget about all the great things that my new home has to offer. It's easier to tell a friend or co-worker that you will meet them for drinks or dinner (that's what happens when food is always on your mind), instead of planning a trip to one of the many amazing landmarks in Boston. So, to break this vicious cycle I've gotten into, Paul and I planned a mini afternoon date in the Public Gardens. We picked up some food on the way for our very low-key picnic, and took in the sun while admiring the wide array of festivities that were happening around us. To top things off, we finished with some delicious gluten-free cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcakes on Newbury Street! In my humble opinion, no day is 100% complete or successful without a cupcake or large bowl of fro-yo!

S+W Mini Moments // Summer Part II
Summer is starting to end, and the mornings are becoming colder in Boston. But, you know what? I’m pretty darn excited for fall! I love seeing the leaves change, and bundling up in sweaters. I have to start planning my fall activities!! So many to choose from, and so little time. So long Summer, hello Fall!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Coffee Break // Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you already know that I got my hair cut this weekend! I actually had my hair trimmed a little bit in July, but it wasn't noticeable. That was the first time in about 8 years that I let someone other than my trusted hair stylist cut my hair. I even dragged Paul with me because I was so uncomfortable going to someone new. I find it funny and, to be honest, a little strange that I’m a creature of habit when it comes to who cuts my hair. I find my attachment to my hair stylist especially funny because I have no problem traveling, relocating to new places, and meeting new people, BUT when it comes to major (or minor) changes to my hair, I only trust Colleen.

California --> Boston
Hi! I hope everyone had a relaxing long weekend! I spent most of Labor Day playing with my puppies and running errands with my family. We ended the night at a really exciting, but very long Angels game. I'm sad that my mini vacation is almost over, but at least this will be a short work week.
