Weekly It List

4.29.13 Weekly It List

/1/2/3/4/5/6/

Hellooo everyone! This past weekend was so beautiful, and the temperature was just right. Tulips are blooming everywhere, and the once naked trees are now fully clothed in one of a kind floral gowns. I'm looking forward to picnics on the Common, baseball games at Fenway Park and, most importantly, seeing my family! The very end of April and the beginning of May means it's time for two very special people in my life to turn yet another year older. Sorry Mom, I'm sure you didn't want to be reminded of that. I'm pretty sure I have my sister's gift all figured out, but I'm still working on my mom's gift. Luckily, I have some time to finalize their presents, since I won't see them until mid May.

On a side note: I know that I haven't posted any pictures in the past few weeks, but I promise there will be pictures this week! Keep an eye out for my new outfit post!

Thursday's Thought

Regardless of how many times I've watched the same movie, I've never been good at remembering any of the characters' lines. But for some reason, this one seemed worth writing down. Have you used your 20 seconds of insane courage this week yet?

This is something that I will strive to accomplish every day of my life. Thank you Atwood's Tavern for reminding me that everything is worth celebrating. I hope you all have a beautiful day!

Weekly It List // Florals

4.15.13 Weekly It List

Spring may have finally arrived in Boston! Patriots Day, Marathon Monday, Red Sox game at Fenway, Tax Day sales, AND a sunny commute to work all on the same day?! What a great way to start the week! Since I actually feel like Spring is here (hopefully for more than a day this time), here are some of my floral picks. I know bright floral prints can be intimidating sometimes, so try adding some flower power to your outfits with your accessories.

Sea glass and Navy

Happy Friday! This week was crazy busy, but super productive. There is something so satisfying about knowing that you earned every bit of free time during your weekend. Speaking of things that are satisfying...I was thrilled when I finally got this J. Crew silk Blythe blouse. I'd been eying this blouse for months but kept saying I would buy it later. Well enough was enough, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! Also, how amazing is this sea glass green color? It's perfect for spring, and definitely brightens up these gloomy Boston days that we've been having lately.

Little White Dress

The weather on Easter was a perfect combination of sunshine and cool breeze. It was one of the most relaxing Sundays I've had in a long time. Not only did I get to spend time with Paul's amazing family, eat delicious food, and play fun games, but I was finally able to wear a dress without tights! Although I love bright colors and prints, sometimes I like to keep it simple. And what better way than a little white dress? This light weight J. Crew dress is one of my favorite dresses to wear during the Spring and Summer because I can wear it to work, out to brunch with friends, or while window shopping on Newbury Street. Oh, and did I mention this dress has pockets? Who doesn't love a dress with pockets?

Goodbye March...Hello April

Coat: J. Crew, Top: J. Crew, Jeans: J. Crew, Shoes: J. Crew, Jewelry: Amaro, J. Crew, Sunglasses: Forever 21, Lips: Tarte Charmed

I've always considered myself as more of a fall person, but this year I'm very excited for spring!  I'll admit that March was not my best month by any means. I constantly felt behind, and no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't catch up. That being said, I'm looking forward to a fresh start. And what better time than the first day of April?!

There are several things that I am looking forward to this month, but what I'm most excited about is warmer weather. Don't get me wrong, I love playing in the snow and wearing boots with everything, but I can't wait to break out my fun wedges and flats! It's still a little chilly here in Boston, so I haven't been able to brave the outdoors without a winter coat yet. I did, however, manage to add some more color back into my wardrobe with my bright orange espadrilles.

Welcome!

Hi there!
I started this blog as a place to share everything I love - fashion, food, people, books and whatever else comes to mind. And yes, I did say books! I’ll admit that I’m a nerd. But, I promise you, being nerdy is back in style or at least I hope it will be soon.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my blog!
xoxo,
Kimiko
